1.
With your back to the village green cross the road go through the K/gate passing the Horse pond on your left, turn left at the end of the path and go through the K/gate ahead follow the path across the fields ignoring all other paths, on reaching the fourth field take the right hand path to reach Chickwell Lane.

Turn left pass the farm then when the road bends left enter the bridleway straight ahead follow this until you reach a gate go through this, turn right through another gate then turn left to follow the path round the farm and out to the road (Hammer Lane) Turn left then right into Row Lane.

Follow this until it bends sharply to the right, where you take the footpath on your left following this across the fields to reach the church at Norton St Philip. Turn right and go through the church yard into the field behind, aim for the top left hand corner passing between the buildings to reach the road. A366

Turn left cross the road to enter North Street follow this to the T junction with Chevers Lane, turn left. You are now on the Mendip Ring. Follow the lane downhill over the cross roads round the bend at the bottom then turn right up the hill follow this path to reach Mount Pleasant Farm.

Turn right here over the bridge straight up through the gate into the bridleway follow this to the top of the hill to reach a track following this round to the left to reach Hassage. Turn left at the road and follow it up hill to a sharp right hand bend where you will find a stile at the top of the bank cross this.

Follow this path towards the bottom corner of the Ramsgate Wood keep follow the wood round through a gate and keep straight ahead passing the end of a hedge, over a stile then on to enter Knoll Wood follow the path round to pass below Knoll Farm and on to reach the road.

Turn left along the road for a short distance to take the bridleway on your right, pass along the top of the ridge then drop down to a gate, take the path to the right follow the bridleway round the fields to eventually enter an enclosed path follow this until you come to a Mendip Ring marker post turn left here to reach the village green again.
